The Role: 

As a Business Controller at Tipser, you play an important role in the organization where your analytical ability is highly valued. You are results- and business-oriented and you have an understanding of financial reporting, analysis, budget and forecast work. Based on your expertise and knowledge, you will manage revenue and related expense reporting, thereby ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of results and analysis. You will be a crucial link at Tipser in this role and will mainly act as a key member of the team working closely with our CFO and overall business operations.

This is a full-time role based in our Stockholm office.

As a Business Controller, you will:

  • Manage & support all Tipser revenue- and expense-reporting, ensuring control, accuracy, predictability and timely delivery of figures, analysis and comments.
  • Ensure all local, regional and corporate reporting is completed accurately and on-time 
  • Work with ongoing business planning and conduct budget and forecast work 
  • Report, analyse, and follow-up on financial outcomes; participate in ongoing meetings with the CEO and CFO.
  • Develop and improve financial analysis and develop routines and processes.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly accounts
  • Prepare financial decision documents and assist with contractual issues of a business economic nature, such as tender reviews and calculation work.
  • Identify and contribute to increased focus on efficiencies and cost awareness.
  • Educate the business in financial processes.
  • Operate and participate in ad-hoc projects in economics and finance

We think that you have: 

  • A Master of Business Administration or equivalent 
  • 4-5+ years of experience at a Big Four accounting firm plus 1-2 years in a role as a Business Controller or the desire to move into that role 
  • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
  • Strong technical capabilities with deep expertise in financial reporting, accounting policies and controls. 
  • The ability to be a hands-on, go-to person on matters of accounting; someone who is comfortable recommending actions on the basis of research and analysis of technical accounting matters.
  • Strong business acumen with exceptional problem-solving, decision-making and analytical skills. 
  • The ability to drive decisions in a highly collaborative culture ensuring the motivation is around doing what is best for the business.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • English fluency in both speaking and writing

  • Experience with financial systems management.
  • Experience working in a startup or scaleup environment
  • A positive, driven, and energetic attitude; able to roll-up your sleeves to get the job done in a lean, growing environment.
  • The ability to manage complexity and ambiguity and lead organizations through it.
